Former blacksmith John has been getting on the water as part of the Steel Bones Canoe Challenge 2024. This year the Steel Bones group will be aiming to canoe 26 miles down river over two days to reach the sea. John will be using the Hammerhead Pivot that clips into his Hero Flex to paddle. He’s been practicing most evenings after work, and feels ready to take on the challenge.
 

Torie was fitted with her Hero Flexes just before the summer season and wasted no time putting them to work. She’s been training all summer for some epic sporting events coming up this fall. Here’s a quick look at the upcoming events she’ll be taking part in. Torie is using the TRS Criterium Pivot on both of her Hero Flexes.

• September – Colorado Springs Marathon – Torie will be running the 5k
• October – The Ojai, CA Women cycling retreat
• November – Challenged Athletes Foundation San Diego Triathlon Challenge. Enhancing Skills for Life has a team doing a triathlon. Torie will be doing the biking part of the triathlon

Brent was in an ATV accident a few years ago. A volunteer firefighter for almost 10 years and a keen golfer, Brent was ready for an upgrade from his prosthetic hook. Check him out using the Golf Pro Systems on his Hero Flex for a round of golf.

Jim is a quad amputee, a sepsis survivor, BMX pro, and gym enthusiast. He was ready for an upgrade of his activewear to help him stay cool and steady on a bike while mountain biking. 

“The Hero Flexes have done everything I wanted and needed. With them being 3D printed, it just had all the breathability to it. Sweating was just pretty insane in my previous carbon fibre socket. You add gel sock and then the inner liner is carbon fibre, it’s brutal and it gets pretty hot here in North Carolina.” 

While not a sport, Kansas farmer Conor sure gives his Hero Flex a workout on the farm. Using his Hammerhead Pivot and Grip Prehensors attachments, Conor uses his Hero Flex for tasks like shoveling grain, watering crops, hauling corn, and handling machinery on the farm.
