Comfort Meets Style

The Hero Gauntlet features a geometric design ventilation and a comfortable grippy palm to ensure natural airflow can reach the skin for all day wear and comfort.

Each Hero Gauntlet comes with Open Bionics’ MagSwap™ removable covers and you can choose from over 40 design and colour options. The Hero Gauntlet is compatible with Apple Watch wrist bands, so you can choose one that is comfortable for you.

Lightweight & Robust

The Hero Gauntlet is manufactured using the very latest 3D printing technology using high tensile strength Nylon 12 for the fingers and flexible Thermoplastic Polyurethane for the liner. All parts are polished and sealed for a high quality, robust and waterproof finish.

Reliable Grip and Firm Hold

The Hero Gauntlet features bearings and a refined wrist design for smooth hand motions, making everyday tasks like getting dressed a breeze. The increased palm grip surface area allows you to confidently organise cards and securely hold keys.

The wrist design also allows radial and ulnar deviation, enhancing your range of motion and maximising freedom of movement.

The device features a BOA dial, allowing on-the-go adjustments to be made to tighten or loosen your grip for a reliable hold.

Improved Function

The Hero Gauntlet has been optimised for performance using the industry standard Anthropomorphic Hand Assessment Protocol (AHAP), which is specifically designed to assess human hand functionality. AHAP uses a set of 25 objects and 26 tasks to evaluate real-world grasping performance. In our study, 100% of participants recorded an improvement in their hand function when they were wearing the Hero Gauntlet.

“I travelled to the USA to get a device but I was quoted over $70,000 for 3 digits. My UK prosthetist could only offer a metal hook powered by shoulder movement. I developed carpal tunnel syndrome from the overuse and strain of my left hand. I’ve been wearing the Hero Gauntlet for 6 months now and it’s incredible. The functionality enables me to rely on my right hand so much more.”    – Mo Ali, 40, Hero Gauntlet wearer

How does it work?

The Hero Gauntlet is designed for patients with partial hand amputations or congenital limb differences including those who have lost one or more full fingers. The Hero Gauntlet is a body-powered device, controlled by the movement of your wrist. If you flex your wrist, the fingers close, if you extend your wrist, the fingers open. The wrist design also allows radial and ulnar deviation, enhancing your range of motion and maximising freedom of movement.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ When I slipped the Hero Gauntlet on and moved my joint and then my fingers went – I thought in amazement “Oh yes, look there!” And then we went on and on, trying out and adjusting everything, then they got a ball, then a screwdriver.. I could finally control the hardness of the grip.
