Reader’s Choice Awards Recognize Open Bionics Upper Limb Prosthetics Clinics

4th November 2025

Our clinics and certified prosthetists across the United States were recognized in the first-ever Reader’s Choice Awards in the November/December 2025 issue of Amplitude magazine. The awards celebrate excellence in prosthetics and orthotics, honoring professionals and facilities in four U.S. regions and 12 categories. Patients, caregivers, and practitioners from the limb-difference community participated in open voting throughout spring 2025, and we’re thrilled that our clinicians earned recognition in eight categories nationwide.

Eastern Region

Upper Limb Prosthetist – Second Place (Tie): Emily Shannon, MSPO, CPO

Upper Limb Facility – Second Place (Tie): Open Bionics Orlando, located at 4700 Millenia Boulevard, Suite 500, Orlando, FL 32839

At our Orlando clinic, Emily Shannon brings a background in biomedical engineering and early prosthetic design experience with e-NABLE. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh’s prosthetics and orthotics program, she combines technical expertise with compassionate, family-centered care. “It’s such an honor to be recognized by the community I serve,” Emily said. “Every fitting is personal because no two patients use their prosthesis the same way. My goal is to make sure each person leaves my clinic feeling capable and confident in what their bionic hand can do.”

Upper Limb Facility – Second Place: Open Bionics Chicago, located at 332 S. Michigan Avenue, Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60604

Jonah loves to combine his hands-on technical skill with a patient-first approach. After logging more than a thousand lab hours before earning his degree at Northwestern University, Jonah understands how small adjustments can make a big difference in comfort and function. “Taking things apart and figuring out how they work has always been my thing,” he said. “That background helps me translate what a patient feels into precise changes that improve how their arm fits and performs.”
