Last month we worked with two Vocational Rehab groups to successfully support two Hero Arm users with their workers compensation claims – here’s what you should know.
Last month we delivered care in Colorado and Florida to two awesome humans who lost their hands in a workplace accident.
This is what the process looked like for them to get their device.
Their journey started with a trip to our office to evaluate with their Vocational Rehab team whether our care and device would meet their needs.
Once we talked through the individual’s goals and activities for their prosthesis, we got each person set up with a trial kit. This enabled them to evaluate the length of their prosthesis, the weight, and the functionality by using it in the clinic to perform a wide range of activities and two-handed tasks.
Once the potential user was happy with their evaluation, they talked over the possibilities with their Vocational Rehab provider and decided to move forward with their Hero Arm and Hero Flex.
It is really important for the Vocational Rehab team to have a lot of confidence and evidence in the care provision and the device being made for the user. The prosthesis chosen needs to support the wearer with their confidence, daily living, hobbies, and getting back to their workplace. The device has to make a positive difference to the wearer’s life and the Vocational Rehab team will ask you lots of questions to help determine whether this is the device and care for you.
In both cases, the users were approved for their Hero Arm and Hero Flex and they couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Our teams in Florida and Colorado were thrilled for their patients and very happy to work with the Vocational Rehab teams to get them what they needed. A success all around!
