When patients visit the Open Bionics clinic in New York City, they meet Daniel Green, a clinician known for his experience, technical skill, and big heart. His goal is to match each person with a tool that fits real life.
Daniel spent more than a decade fitting prosthetics at large and small practices before choosing to specialize in upper limb care with Open Bionics. “We handle the real-world part,” he said. “My job is to make the device comfortable, useful, and confidence-building.”
His process starts with clear expectations. “Tell me what you want to do, I will explain what the arm can do, and we will map the steps to get there,” Daniel said. “When a prosthesis works as a helpful tool, people want to wear it.”
During a first visit, Daniel covers goals, measurements, a quick myoelectric check, and a plan for a test socket. “Insurance is part of the plan. High-tech devices often need extra care and detail when submitting to insurance companies” he explained. “We prepare for that, document function, and help with the appeal process.”

The New York clinic serves the five boroughs and the wider metro area. Located on Park Avenue, two blocks from Grand Central Terminal, with easy subway access and nearby hotels.

Daniel’s patience and care extends to his home. He and his family adopt and train rescue dogs, most recently a brindle Pit Bull named Cookie. “Rescues need patience,” he said. “That mindset carries into clinic life. I meet people where they facing challenges and help them move forward.”

Daniel has also been getting involved with local community events by taking along bionic tech for people to test and try on for themselves. Recently Daniel showcased the latest bionic devices at the Lucky Fin Project in Michigan.

Looking ahead, Daniel aims to grow local awareness, strengthen referral partnerships, and deliver fittings that feel great from day one and even better over time. “The best feedback is when someone says the arm helped them do something easier than before.”
