Shannon: “I unfortunately had a different prosthetic team in the beginning but when I met Elise with Hero Arms I dropped the other team instantly. Elise listened to me and took everything I wanted and everything I was personally going through at the time into consideration. I’m a quad amputee with bad skin integrity and one arm cut shorter than the other with more scarring so it’s hard for the sensor to detect what my muscles are doing and I get frustrated. I thought I couldn’t do it . She kindly told me to be patient with that limb but still I insisted she make the sensors opposite . Long story short she was right and I should have listened but she made me feel like my opinion mattered, she did ask me if I was sure a hundred times and let me know I probably just needed time . But she did everything I wanted the way I wanted it and made me feel like i was finally being heard. We have changed the prosthetics but now not only do I have the best arms for me because she listens and teaches but she also took into consideration my skin and the problems I have in certain parts of my nub and made proper adjustments for that and I can now wear my arms almost all day they are comfortable and I feel like they are my own hands. Not the ones I had before , new ones, but still mine. My life is so much better since I chose Elise and Hero Arms.”
