A young farmer from Northwest Kansas who tragically lost his arm in a farming accident was fitted with a Hero Arm 9-months after the accident. After his Hero Arm delivery with an Upper Limb Prosthetist at Open Bionics, Conor transitioned from living with no arm, to being able to eat independently, carry more weight, hold items with both hands, and do more chores.

We knew Elisa and her family were huge Disney fans, so we worked with the team at Disney to create a custom Princess Tiana Hero Arm cover fit for royalty. When Elisa from Atlanta finished her 12 month check-in appointment, she and her family were whisked away to a once-in-a-lifetime VIP Disney experience. Elisa enjoyed a Disney Princess experience and two days out at the Disney World Resort for the whole family.

Torie was fitted with two custom Hero Arms at the Open Bionics clinic after having to have a quadruple amputation due to sepsis. Torie wanted a prosthesis that was light and moved intuitively. She knew the Hero Arm was right after a demo, the only barrier left was funding them. What Torie thought was a fit-check appointment, turned into a Hero Arm delivery appointment thanks to an anonymous donor covering costs of two Hero Arms.

Bruce is 70 years old and uses his Hero Arm day-to-day for everything from feeding his pet tortoises, to woodworking, to building a pickup truck. If that isn’t the true definition of being “handy”, we don’t know what is! Bruce was fitted with a Hero Arm at an Open Bionics clinic following a successful crowdfunding campaign.
